, 1 min reading time

Toyota has announced plans to launch two new electric vehicles: the low-cost city car Compact Cruiser and the luxury model Land Cruiser SE.

Toyota plans to launch two new electric cars: the affordable and city-friendly Compact Cruiser and the luxurious Land Cruiser SE. Both models are based on the fifth version of the Toyota Land Cruiser and are intended to appeal to wider target groups. The Compact Cruiser will be designed as a robust SUV for families and urban drivers, with the aim of offering an off-road vehicle at an affordable price. The vehicle is expected to use the E-TNGA chassis and, in the all-wheel drive version, will deliver up to 160 kW / 218 hp with a 71.4 kWh battery, and offer a maximum range of 417 kilometers. The Land Cruiser SE, on the other hand, will be positioned as a top-of-the-range luxury model and is part of a new electric car range from Toyota. The vehicle will be manufactured using Gigacast parts to improve production efficiency. The Land Cruiser SE will be equipped with a new performance battery that doubles the range and is 20 percent cheaper to produce than conventional batteries. Toyota plans to introduce a high-performance battery option by 2028 that will reduce costs by a further 10 percent and increase range to up to 1,000 kilometers.
