Cooperation between Uber and Tesla

Uber and Tesla are collaborating to promote electric mobility among Uber drivers in the US. This is part of Uber's goal of operating emission-free in North American cities by 2030. Uber is offering drivers special purchase incentives of up to $2,000 for Tesla Model 3 and Model Y to ease costs and access to charging stations. Andrew Macdonald, Senior Vice President at Uber, sees the main barriers in the cost of ownership and the lack of charging stations. Drivers can purchase Tesla vehicles directly and must purchase by March 31 and complete 100 trips by May 15 to receive the incentive.
Uber also initiates test drives in Tesla stores and shares location data with Tesla to optimize charging infrastructure. In 2020, Uber invested $800 million to support the transition to electric models by 2025. The collaboration between Uber and Tesla helps promote sustainable mobility and emission-free transport.
